because your hair is shoulder length, it probably curls bc the ends of ur hair rest on ur shoulder. if ur hair was sligtly longer im sure it wouldnt curl like that.

but in the meantime, a flat iron will work best. try spraying ur hair slightly at the ends with aerosol hairspray and then straightening it. it might hold better. as far as gel goes...it not a good idea, it will just make ur hair stiff and will look weird if its only gelled at the bottom.

How do you dry it? Try and make sure you dry it straight (hairdryer and heat protector). If that doesn't work, straighten it in small thin chunks where the curl starts.

I just have a great solution for this.

After shampooing your hair, apply a silkening serum to your towel dried hair. You can use one from Garnier or Paul mitchell's works good or pantene silkening serum.

Then using a brush blow dry your hair evenly, until all the wetness is gone. I do this after every hair bath and my hair stays straight all day long. If you want it super straight, you can also use a straightner after blow drying your hair jes at the ends.
