Hi, im a 15 yr old guy, and I have curly hair but I wanna permanentaly straighten it. I have a few Q's.
1.Can I use relaxer to make it permanentaly straight?
2. Can my local salon do it for me.
3.How much would it cost?
4. Does it really permanentally damage your hair?
5. What are some other ways to do it?
And when I say permanentaly, I know that you keep on having to do your roots.
And was I spelling permanentally right?lol
How can I make my hair permanently straight?
1) Relaxers are for people with coarse hair, thermal straightening is for people with non-ethnic hair or non-coarse hair.
2) A lot of salons do these services, I work for JcPenney Salon and we offer both.
3) A relaxer costs anywhere from $50-$150, just depends where you go, and the thermal straightening is much more, about $300-$1200.
4) I does permanently damage the hair, relaxers are worse.
5) You can straighten your hair with a straightening iron.

U KNOW ITS COOL IF ITS CURLY YOU KNOW THAT? BUT TRY USING A MOISTURIZING CONDITIONER
How can I make my hair permanently straight?
Good salons have straightening treatments.
They're expensive though, so get it checked out.
It damages your hair, but so does straightening with a flat iron/curling it/dying it/overwashing it. Just get a good shampoo/conditioner for damaged hair.
How can I make my hair permanently straight?

5. thats about it. unless you want to straighten it every day
How can I make my hair permanently straight?
1.Can I use relaxer to make it permanentaly straight? Yes. But there are conditions. You cannot have any hair dye in your hair. This includes if you dyed it a long time ago and there is still some left because it has all not grown out and been cut. If you do it with dye it will ruin your hair. But its basically a reverse perm.
2. Can my local salon do it for me? Maybe, maybe not. Depends on where you live. Call around to local salons and ask them. I've asked my hairdresser and she doesn't like to do them because they can be so damaging.
3.How much would it cost? Depends on the salon.
4. Does it really permanentally damage your hair? Side effects of a bad chemical hair straightening treatment can include total or spot hair loss, hair breakage where hair breaks at the scalp line, bald spots scalp rashes, irritation and potential scarring of the scalp. In rare cases, if burns occur on the skin, these can leave scars as well. Also, hair may stop growing temporarily or permanently as a result of the chemical treatments.
5. What are some other ways to do it? I do not believe there are any other permenent ways to do it. The only other thing is if you bought a hair straightener and did it every day. Hair straightener will run you about $30 for a regular one or about $100 for a real good one. But the more expensive ones are higher in heat and are usually wider for girls that have longer or thicker hair.
You can also buy an at home hair relxaing kit. It does not need to be done at a salon but that would probably be your best bet.

How can I make my hair permanently straight?
yes, you can relax your hair. but according to my friend, relaxing makes it naturally straight but your hair may curl back. my friend's did.
i do japanese rebonding whereby they uses chemicals to break up the curly bonds and uses flat iron to pull them straight(re-bonding it) and then setting the new bonds. but rebonding gives you amazing straight hair and i seriously dont feel that it'll look nice on guys.
you can go down to your local salon and get professional advices from the hairstylists.
How can I make my hair permanently straight?
I love curly hair on guys personally.
BUT, I have curly/wavy hair myself (a mixture of both really, and it's not pretty!), and I straighten my hair every 3-5 months myself (depending on growth).
This is what I do, and it DOES WORK.
1) I get a home perm (Ogilvie home perm is what I use, and you should be able to find it at any grocery, Walmart, etc.).
2) Fill a spray bottle with water, and spray you hair with it (you can also wet it under the tub and towel most of the moisture out).
3) After your hair is damp, make the part wherever you will want the part to be, once you hair will be straight.
4) Apply the perm solution exactly as it says (except do not use the curlers .. or the wraps that are included in the box), and use a FINE toothed comb to brush your hair straight as you are applying the solution.
5) After you apply all of the perm solution, set the timer (per box instructions).
*** 6) While you are waiting for the timer to go off, you have to continuously come your hair with the fine toothed comb (it has to be fine toothed, to get the straightness that you are trying to achieve).
Just say you set the time for 25 minutes for example, you do not have to comb for a continuous 25 minutes .. but you do have to comb it at lest every few minutes or so, to insure that your hair is still straight.
If you don't do this, you may actually end up perming waves into your hair, or your natural curls will spring up and that section of hair will not be straight.
7) When the timer goes off, go into the tub or shower and rinse, keeping hair as straight as possible all the while.
*** 8) Then apply the bottle of Neutralizer. After you apply the Neutralizer to your hair, you have to repeat step -6)-.
Since the neutralizer is what is actually "ending" the perm process, you have to make sure that your hair is staying completely straight, until the process is completely finished.
9) After the time is up, rinse the Neutralizer out of your hair.
10) And that is it!
---
You can blow dry your hair when you are done, or you can let it dry naturally.
Like I said, this is what I do to straighten my hair, and it really works.
You may need to get a trim afterwards, to cut off your dead ends. Especially since you don't notice your dead ends as much when your hair is curly, after you straighten it, you will.
Good luck with your new style!!
How can I make my hair permanently straight?
Hurh....think I am able to help. Have straighten my hair several times.
Ok, first of all, chemically treating your hair in long term will bound to damage your hair. Regardless of what the salon people say. They are out there to earn your bucks, dude!
1. Relaxer - very strong chemical used. Doing relaxer will tend to cause your hair to become coarse; even if you have healthy hair and doing it for the first time. I would recommend you to try Japanese straight perm. However, I am not sure if your local salon has this service.

2. Should be able to.
3. Depends. Some salons charge at lower price because they use inferior products. Check the quality of chemical used.

Lastly, if you are still considering relaxer, I would rather you keep your current natural wave.
