ive never used a perm and i think it can damage my hair alot so thats why im hessitant to use it i have really curly hair and even when i blow it out it still looks wavy what product would be good to get it straight thanks
How can i get my hair extremly straight without having to use perms?
My hair is super thick and is always hard to straighten with just a blowdrier. I decided to buy some straightener gel that I put in my hair right after I take a shower. Then I straighten my hair with a straightener I bought from Target. After it is all straight, I spray on some shine stuff because I am afraid my hair will look burnt-ish if I don't.
The good thing about my straightener is that it also increases shine instead of just leaving your hair a straight, burnt looking mess.
Here is the one I bought:

It has power settings. For my thick hair I usually use 150 -170. Depends on how much my hair is being weird. I love this and have had no problems with it either.
The gel I use is here:

Tresemme is good, although my salon says it causes buildup. I think they just want me to spend more money on their stuff. :)

i have really curly hair and i got a perm. just to let you know, its perfectly fine for your hair.it helps loads with straighrtening and it looks awesome curly. if you wnat your hair to look good while curly try the sunsilk frizz control leave in conditioner, or catwalk products. just some stuff to think about. however, if you want a good straightening job: jump in the shower, when you come out, blow dry it straight witha brush. spray chi hair products in it for straightening then use a chi. the key to a good straightening are the perfect blow dryer brush and straightener. then maybe get something for the after shine. good luck--curly hair is hard work

i have really curly hair and from my experiance this is what i'd suggest doing
Try swapping ur normal shampoo for a one that tames frizz or has Vitamin H/Almond (Tresemme do a good range) after shampooing use conditions and concentrate on ur ends as their the most damaged part of ur hair! after washing ur hair use straighting cream on wet hair and apply a heat spray on and let it to air dry or u could blow dry it til it 80% dry then section ur hair and blow dry from the roots to the ends and for a sleeker look after blow drying use a pair of straightners %26amp; a dab of serum and your ready to go!

It's really in the technique you use. BUT, perms are to curl your hair, and you don't want to do that. I have curly hair, and I hate it, too. This is my method of keeping it as straight as possible. It's taken me years to get this method down, and it works for me.
1. The longer the hair is the straighter it will be because the weight pulls the curl out. Mine is a few inches below my shoulders because I now like a little "shape" to it, but I used to wear it almost waist length and it really straightened it out then.
2. I never wash it more than twice a week because it makes it look fly-away and frizzy. And rainy/humid days make it go straight to mega-curl!
3.After I wash and condition and towel dry, I comb through a good leave-in conditioner to helpt it look less frizzy. It's called Bio silk ($20-$22 a bottle that lasts about a year)
4.When I blow dry it, I use one of those comb things that fist on the end of the dryer, and dry it by pulling the comb through. Make sure it's all dry before you stop. Leaving it damp promots curl!
5. After I blowdry, I use a larger barrel curling iron to control it in the right style. Then I only have to use the curling iron each morning between washes.
Of course if you want it to be "board straight", and it's really long you could always iron it, like we used to do in the 60's, or roll it up on really huge rollers (like frozen orange juice cans) to give it a gentle flip at the bottom.
Good luck. And, I feel your "pain" -- LOL!
